We teach Somali to children and adults. Our in-person Saturday classes for children are running now, a new online Sunday class for children starts in October, and a self-paced course is in development. If you are not sure which is right for you, get in touch and we will help you choose.
Our in-person Saturday classes bring children together each week to learn Somali. Children are taught in a younger and an older group, and build their reading, writing and speaking in a supportive group of their own age.
Register interestThe Saturday class, live on a screen at home, with every session tailored to primary-age children and built to keep them engaged: short activities, games, songs and plenty of turns to speak, so two hours online feel like play rather than a lesson. A small group of children meets their Somali teacher every Sunday afternoon to read, write, speak and play in Somali, with printable sheets and games from Student Resources to keep going during the week. Ideal for families who cannot travel to us, or for brothers and sisters learning together. This first group is for children in school years 2 to 6.

A course you follow in your own time, on your phone or laptop: five levels of short units from the alphabet to reading real Somali, with games, listening practice and progress that is saved as you go. We are building it now. Register your interest and you will hear first when it opens.
